What’s the time,
Mr Fox?
OUTSIDE
To play this game, you, as Mr Fox, will stand several metres in front of your child with your back towards them.
The place where your child stands is considered ‘home’.
For example, you might be standing at one end of your backyard, and your child is standing behind you on the porch, which is ‘home’.
Your child will call out to you, ‘What’s the time, Mr Fox?’ You will answer with a time of day, for example, ‘3 o’clock’.
Your child will take that number of steps toward you (in this case, three) and repeat the question.
When you think your child is getting close to you, you can reply to their question with ‘dinner time’.
This is when you can turn around and try and tag your child before they reach their ‘home’ spot.
If they get tagged, they can become Mr Fox.
