Organising sounds
TRAVELLING
Using the items your child found in the ‘What sounds can I find’ activity, ask them to draw a picture of each object on a small piece of paper.
Ask your child to do a two-way sort of these objects.
For example, the first sort might be on high-pitched sounds and low-pitched sounds.
The second sort then separates the high-pitched sounds into ‘high pitch and metal’ and ‘high pitch and not metal’, and the same for low pitch.
Ask your child to see how many different ways they can sort the objects into different groups.
