Map it

When next travelling in the car or by public transport  ask your child to draw the route (or part of the route) you took and the different landmarks they saw.

Do this for several destinations (a family or friend’s house, to school, the post office, etc.) so your child has a collection of maps representing these familiar routes you travel together.
