How many steps?

TRAVELLING

When you are at the playground, ask your child to predict and then measure how many steps wide different parts of the playground are.

For example, they might predict that the sandpit is 20 of their heel-to-toe steps wide or that the bridge on the fort is four steps wide.

They can then measure the objects.

Next, ask them to predict an object wider, narrower or the same width as the objects they already measured.

They can then measure the objects.
