How many spoons?

Collect some spoons or other items (all of the same length).

Explain to your child that these spoons are going to be used to measure different distances inside the house.

Ask them to predict the distance between different objects in your house.

For example, the distance between the fridge and the kitchen bench is about 12 spoons.

The distance between my bed and my lamp table is about three spoons.

The coffee table is almost eight spoons away from the couch.

Now ask them to measure the actual length exactly, using the spoons.
