Heads, shoulders, knees and toes

INSIDE

Sing the song ‘head, shoulders, knees and toes’ with your child.

Here is a link to a video of the song on YouTube.

Ask your child to draw a symbol for each body part used in the song on a small piece of paper.

Discuss with them what symbols will best represent each body part.

Ask your child to change one of the body parts in the sequence and arrange the symbols to reflect this change.

Have a go at singing the new arrangement. For example, it could be heads, shoulders, toes and knees, toes and knees….

Start with one change at a time and work up to a whole new sequence.

As a variation you can include other body parts not in the original song (e.g. hands, elbows, ankles, chin, etc.).
