Follow the bumblebee

With your child, listen to the following piece of music called Flight of the Bumblebee on YouTube that depicts the path of a bumblebee.

As you listen, ask your child to describe what they think the bee is doing and how it is moving as the music progresses.

Next, listen to the piece again, but this time, ask your child to act out the bee’s flight based on the music.

For example, when the music is high-pitched, the bee flies high in the sky, so they may stretch up tall.

When the music is low in pitch, the bee might be flying low, around flowers on the ground, so your child may ‘fly’ like a bee down low.
