Buzz!

OUTSIDE

Choose a multiple of 2, 5 or 10 for this game.

In an open space, count from one with your child while taking one step at time.

When you get to a multiple of your number, you need to say ‘Buzz’ and clap, rather than take a step.

For example, if you choose 5, you and your child would count the steps 1 ,2 , 3, 4 and then say ‘buzz’ and clap instead of 5.

Then you continue the sequence, counting on ‘6, 7, 8…’, etc., until the next multiple of five, where you clap and say ‘buzz’ again.

If one of you makes a mistake by saying the number of the multiple instead of ‘buzz’, then the other person gets a point, and you start from 1 again.

Children at this age should explore multiples of 2, 5 and 10 but as a challenge could do multiples of 3 and 4.
