About ELSA At Home

This ELSA At Home website has been created by the STEM Education Research Centre (SERC) at the University of Canberra as part of the ELSA: STEM in Schools program, funded by the Federal Department of Education.

ELSA At Home has been designed for parents and carers. It provides fun and simple activities that you can do with your child/ren who are in Foundation Year (Kindy), Year 1 or Year 2 as you go about your everyday life.

There are activities that you can do inside your house, outside in the yard or surrounding area, and while out and about in the car.

This ELSA At Home website is just one aspect of the wider ELSA: STEM in Schools program. This program engages children across the early years of schooling in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Its philosophy is that learning programs should be authentically accessible for all children, including those in vulnerable, geographically isolated and non-traditional-learning communities—who have often been excluded from STEM-education opportunities.

The ELSA: STEM in Schools program contains digital tools for students, a digital Teacher tool, and more than 100 classroom activities that children will do at school.

You can find out more about ELSA: STEM in Schools on the program website.
